Amazing Race

Eighth graders at Alain Locke Charter School have been busy participating in many events to prepare them for their upcoming high school transition. Throughout the year, Future Founders Foundation has implemented a highly interactive college and career readiness curriculum, “Pathways to Careers,” to expose students to new careers through project-based learning. Students have participated in activities led by Chicago professionals to develop and strengthen their teamwork, marketing, technology, and networking skills. These hands-on lessons have given them the opportunity to explore new careers and develop skills that help them succeed in college and the workforce.

As a culminating activity, Future Founders Connect invited middle school students across Chicago to compete in the “Amazing Race” entrepreneurship challenge. This event took place last Friday at Motorola Mobility with over 150 volunteers, educators, and students. Ten Alain Locke students completed various activities that showcased their professional and personal skills to earn prizes and bragging rights.

Alain Locke is so grateful for the opportunity for our scholars to demonstrate their talents and skills while becoming globally competitive.
