On October 16 Alain Locke hosted 20 Teacher Leaders from an organization called Leading Educators. The idea behind the school visit was for the Leading Educator Fellows to go well beyond their own institutions to witness for themselves the schools across the country that are ensuring excellent results for kids. Alain Locke was selected for its proven track record in closing the achievement gap by utilizing some of the best educational practices currently exhibited in Chicago.
Leading Educators is a two-year professional development program for teacher leaders. All Fellows work in open enrollment, public schools throughout Greater New Orleans, Kansas City, and Washington, D.C.
