We’re so proud of Alain Locke All-Stars Makayla and London, who took home blue ribbons from the Illinois History Day contest on Wednesday for their “Top 3 Floors” exhibit.
In total, five seventh- and eighth-grade All-Stars advanced from last month’s Chicago Metro History Day competition to the statewide contest, which was held at the Bank of Springfield Convention Center. All who traveled downstate did a truly remarkable job representing educational excellence for Alain Locke!
The big day even included a visit to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and tours of Abraham Lincoln’s home and the Illinois State Capitol building. Special thanks to seventh- and eighth-grade social studies instructor Mrs. Baran for cheering everyone on and providing support throughout the trip.
