Class of 2015 Graduate Retreat

The eighth graders at Alain Locke spent the day preparing for their upcoming transition to high school. They started the morning off with a grad-to-grad networking breakfast, followed by the much anticipated announcement of the valedictorian and salutatorian. Students created posters and rapped about the character traits, learning strategies, and habits needed to be successful in high school. They had fun incorporating African music and dance into a lesson that focused on defining knowledge and designing their destiny. With activities focusing on character development, academic mindset, and chasing great goals, the Class of 2015 spent the day preparing for the future. Eighth graders ended the retreat taking a special trip down memory lane to remember where it all started.

A special thank you to Educational Endeavors, Ignite One, I Am Inspiration, and Youth Guidance (B.A.M. and W.O.W.) for their dedication to the Alain Locke students.
