8th Grade All-Stars Explore Black Excellence Throughout History at 2025-26 Annual Heritage Bowl

In honor of Black History Month, two teams of eighth grade All-Stars faced off in a school-wide trivia competition last Friday.

This year’s theme for our Annual Heritage Bowl was, “Past-to-Present Black Inventors and Innovators,” which was designed to highlight the lasting impact of Black excellence and innovation throughout history. To help mark the occasion, the Alain Locke Dance Team also delivered a truly wonderful performance.

Not only that, but we were also proud to begin the event by honoring Elise M. Foster, who currently serves as the first woman president of Branch 11 of the National Association of Letter Carriers. She was recognized for her outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to strengthening our community.

We’d like to say a special thank you to our awesome fourth grade instructor, Ms. Wilkerson, for organizing and hosting this event. See all the pictures from the 2025-26 Annual Heritage Bowl below.
