All-Stars Examine Stories From the Past in 2024-25 Annual History Fair

When it comes to the past, those who understand history are empowered to better navigate the world and create bold new futures!

At our 2024-25 Annual Alain Locke History Fair on Friday, our seventh and eighth grade All-Stars demonstrated their impressive knowledge of some of the most important lessons from the past. Their projects on this year’s theme, entitled “Rights and Responsibilities in History,” included board presentations, research papers, and video documentaries examining topics such as:

  • The Great Chicago Fire
  • The history of the Mattel Barbie doll
  • Shirley Chisholm, the first African-American woman to serve in the United States Congress

Big thanks to Mrs. Baran, our seventh and eighth grade social studies instructor, for organizing the event, and congratulations to our All-Stars on a a truly fantastic job last week! This year’s Annual History Fair will surely go down in the books as one of the best ones ever.
