Thanks to SWC Technology Partners, a world-class education is now within reach for Alain Locke Charter School students—literally.
SWC has donated more than 100 laptops to ensure students of every grade level have access to a computer.
The incredibly-generous donation is only the latest show of support from SWC, which has been a devoted partner of Alain Locke since 2011.
According to a recent blog post on the SWC website, “The goal of our partnership is to help Alain Locke stay competitive with today’s scholastic demands and to enhance the lives of the students by providing solutions to progress the school’s educational-technology.”
Students will be able to use the new laptops for research projects, placement test-taking and even applications for schools and job opportunities.
In addition to the laptops provided for students, SWC has provided every Alain Locke instructor with a Microsoft Surface laptop.
Looking forward, SWC will be launching mentorship and pen pal programs for students. The programming is being organized by the SWC Women in Technology (WIT) group as part of its WIT 2020 initiative.
Other programs planned for WIT 2020 include workshops for students and families on résumé drafting and Microsoft Office 365.
