Our third grade All-Stars recently had a roaring good time at the River Trail Nature Center in Northbrook.
These young explorers embarked on this thrilling outdoor adventure out of the Chicago Nature Seekers program. This fantastic program offers a variety of nature-based experiences to learn about the diverse wildlife native to Illinois.
Did you know that the Forest Preserves of Cook County are home to thousands of plants and animals, including over 100 threatened and endangered species? Our intrepid All-Stars got a close look at all sorts of local animal species: snakes, turtles, fish, honeybees, owls—even a real, live coyote!
In addition to the fascinating animal encounters, our students enjoyed a leisurely nature walk, soaking in the beauty of forest. They also participated in a variety of fun outdoor activities, fostering a deep connection with the ecosystem around them.
We’re so grateful to Chicago Nature Seekers for providing such an enriching experience for our students. Keep scrolling to see pictures of all the wonder below!
