Talk about PROUD! On the heels of the incredible recognitions they received in a major national ranking of best elementary and middle schools, today we’re excited to announce our All-Stars’ phenomenal performance in the 2025 Illinois Assessment of Readiness.
With a 48.2% composite score for English language arts and math on the 2025 IAR, our All-Stars have made Alain Locke Chicago’s top-performing charter school! Additional highlights include:
- Sixty and one tenth percent of All-Stars met or exceeded ELA performance level, putting them 17.3 percentage points ahead of Chicago Public Schools students and 7 percentage points ahead of students statewide
- With 36.3% of All-Stars achieving proficiency in math, they outperformed CPS by 9.3 percentage points and came closer than ever before to the statewide proficiency rate (38.4% this year)
- All-Stars’ 56.7% year-over-year growth percentile for ELA and 57.7% for math exceeded that of both CPS (49.3% and 50.1%, respectively) and all Illinois students (50.0% and 50.0%, respectively)
This remarkable news breaks just days after we announced Alain Locke has been named a “Best Middle School” in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Best Elementary and Middle School rankings. To make things even better, we were also named No. 2 among Illinois charter middle schools and No. 7 among Illinois charter elementary schools!
