Dear Parents,

As you know, Alain Locke’s current goal is to welcome students and staff back to building for the start of our third quarter, February 8th. Schools across the world, throughout the country, and here in Chicago have successfully demonstrated that they can safely reopen classrooms with the right safety protocols in place.

We have developed a comprehensive health and safety plan to ensure Alain Locke is aligned to the best available and most up-to-date public health guidance. Please review our Alain Locke Reopening Plan for more information.

HYBRID LEARNING MODEL

For those of you who chose the hybrid learning model, we look forward to welcoming your child back to the school building. For the third quarter, we will facilitate in-person instruction at the school two days a week – Monday/Tuesday – then remote instruction for the rest of the week. In-person school hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Your child’s instructor will be reaching out to share more details and at home schedules when students are learning at home. Please refer to the “What will our return to the school building look like?” document for more information.

FULL-TIME REMOTE

For those of you that chose to opt out of in-person learning and continue with remote learning only, your child’s instructor will give you an update on any scheduling changes for the third quarter.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the main office at 773-265-7232. For communication purposes, please ensure Alain Locke has your up-to-date emergency contact information.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we address the challenges of COVID-19 head on and ensure the safest learning environment for our students and staff.
