School Reopening Plan

A Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents,

All PreK-8th grade students at Alain Locke Charter School will continue with remote learning for the rest of the second quarter. As part of our remote learning plan, students will continue to engage in learning daily through a combination of real-time instruction with classmates and instructors, small group activities, and independent learning.

Our current goal is to welcome students and staff back to the building at the start of our third quarter, February 8th. We will be updating our reopening plan with more details in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, if you have any questions please reach out to the main office at 773-265-7232. For communication purposes, please ensure Alain Locke has your up-to-date emergency contact information. For the most reliable information about COVID-19, please visit chicago.gov/coronavirus or cdc.gov/coronavirus.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we address the challenges of COVID-19 head on and ensure the safest learning environment for our students and staff. Thank you for your invaluable support and partnership during this challenging time. Please be sure to check Bloomz for any updates. Stay safe!
